Let me introduce Franly Liriano

About 4 years ago Starr had her first encounter with Franly. He was in the parent coordinator's office at his school with his mom and dad. His parents had to come to his school because he would not speak English. His teachers were getting frustrated and well Starr was very confused as to why for the third time in a span of 3 or 4 weeks Franly was getting in trouble for the same thing. " I just couldn't understand why this kid wouldn't just talk English, it absolutely didn't make any sense to me, " Starr says as she laughs a bit. " But then my mom explained it  to me, which by the way she was Franly's school parent coordinator."  So many teens in our school system have a language barrier that Franly had and they go through their high school years struggling in silence. Franly was a lucky one who had teachers, parents and a parent coordinator who really cared about him and his success. But Starr began to think, but what about the others who have no one, and struggle with this language barrier all alone. So from there came great inspiration in which here at ID House we call " The Franly Room". The Franly Room is a place where international teens can get tutoring in their own language and then learn that same material in English. "If they can't comprehend the work in their native tongue how can they understand it in another language. I can't even imagine the frustration of that and in meeting Franly without even knowing it he has taught me a lot and I'm grateful for his life and the legacy he will leave here at ID House", says Starr. Franly is now a graduate from the High School of Arts, Imagination and Inquiry located in Manhattan, NY. Our CEO (Starr Felicier) and our COO (Monsie Felicier) had the ultimate privilege of witnessing Franly walk across that stage and they are so proud of him. Oh and of course Franly was looking super fly in his J's!

Congrats Franly on Graduating High School!
